Self-Care Tips Throughout Your Fertility Journey

As national infertility awareness week gets closer, we want to put the focus back on you! Putting yourself first during your fertility journey can be difficult. To help support and encourage you, we’re sharing some important self-care tips.
Spend time with friends and family. Having a support system during your treatment cycle can be helpful. Whether you’ve chosen to keep your fertility treatment private, or share openly, having a small circle of close friends or family to share your thoughts and feelings with can be beneficial. They can be your cheerleaders and greatest support system throughout your moments of doubt.

Make yourself a priority. During a treatment cycle, taking some extra time for yourself is a way to relax and feel more centered. Fertility treatments can demand a lot of your time and energy, so finding small moments for yourself can be helpful. Whether you book a massage, take time for a quiet walk, or treat yourself to a shopping trip, taking time for you is crucial!

Say “no” when you need to. Contrary to popular belief, saying no can be healthy – especially while navigating infertility. It’s okay to decline invitations to events that are triggering to you, take a break from social media, and choose your circle of friends wisely. Taking care of yourself is never anything to apologize for!

Maintain a routine. While you don’t have to follow a rigid schedule, maintaining a general routine to start and end your day can help you to feel more in control of your day-to-day life.

Implement healthy habits. Starting small can make a big difference when it comes to your health. Staying hydrated, maintaining a balanced diet, being physically active, and getting a good night’s sleep are simple ways to keep your body and mind feeling its best.

As always, our dedicated team of providers is always here to support you throughout the ups and the downs of your fertility journey! We see you, we support you, we’re here for you.
